Sarah Ghermay

Ms. Ghermay grew up in both Ethiopia and the Washington D.C. area. She attended Cornell University where she earned her B.S. in Industrial & Labor Relations and later, earned her M.S. in Adolescent in Special Education from Hunter College. Prior to joining the KIPP team, Ms. Ghermay worked at Cornerstone Academy for Social Action Middle School in the Bronx (NY).

Ms. Gilbert grew up in Windham, ME and graduated from Endicott College in 2004. She has taught at KIPP Lynn for four years.

Stephanie Glowik
PE Teacher - KIPP Academy Lynn
Ms. Glowik grew up in Peabody, MA and earned her degree in Political science from Salem State University. Prior to coming to KIPP, Ms. G worked for the YMCA and the Peabody Recreation Department. This is her third year with KIPP.

Gaby Gonzalez del Real
7th/8th grade Writing Teacher - KIPP Academy Lynn
Ms. GDR grew up in Albuquerque, NM and graduated from Claremont McKenna College. This is her third year at KIPP and she previously spent a year tutoring at MATCH Middle School in Boston.

Joel Hector
6th grade Math Teacher – KIPP Academy Lynn
Mr. Hector is entering his eighth year with KIPP Lynn. He grew up in Vermont and attended Simmons College. In addition to his work at KIPP, Mr. Hector worked at an elementary school in Newbury, MA.

Mrs. Hector grew up in Proctor, VT and attended Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Virginia, earning a BA in Psychology & Communications. She later earned her MSEd in Special Education from Simmons College in Boston. Prior to coming to KIPP, Mrs. Hector taught special education in Hamilton-Wenham, MA.

Christine Hjerpe

Ms. Hjerpe grew up in Barrington, RI and attended the University of Notre Dame where she earned both her B.A. in American Studies and her M.Ed. Prior to coming to KIPP, Ms. Hjerpe served as a Literacy Consultant for the Notre Dame ACE Academies in Tucson, AZ.

Eveleen Hsu
5th grade ELA Teacher and Miles Fellow- KIPP Academy Lynn
Ms. Hsu grew up in Newton, MA. She graduated from Harvard University in 2007, and then from Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2009 with a Master’s in Education. She has been teaching for six years, and with KIPP Lynn for five.

Ms. Kelleher grew up in Weymouth, MA and attended Bridgewater State University where she earned her degree in Elementary Education and History. Prior to joining KIPP, Ms. Kelleher worked in Weymouth Public Schools.

Ms. McPhail grew up in Houston, TX and graduated from Trinity University in 2003. She is entering her 10th year teaching.

Ms. McQueeney grew up in Peabody, MA and studied Elementary and Special Education at the University of Hartford. Prior to joining the KIPP MA team, she was the assistant director of an outdoor adventure camp run by the city of Peabody parks and rec.

Ms. Nakajima grew up in Louisville, KY and graduated from Saint Louis University in 2010. She is entering her fourth year of teaching at KIPP Lynn.

Adam Perry

Mr. Perry grew up in Rockville, MD, just outside of Washington, DC. He attended Brown University and graduated with a degree in Economics. Mr. Perry worked at a financial services and financial education nonprofit for low-income DC residents for three years, and KIPP DC for one year. He also spent this past year as a Match Teaching Resident in Boston.

Ms. Savage grew up in Eau Claire, WI and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She is in her fifth year of teaching for KIPP Lynn.

Ms. Schmandt grew up in the Boston area and graduated from Brown University. She is in her third year teaching at KIPP Lynn, and previously studied plant biology and worked as a tutor at MATCH Middle School in Boston.

Ms. Syariff grew up in Santa Ana, CA and graduated from Northeastern University. She is in her third year of teaching and came to KIPP Lynn through Teach for America.

Mr. Traicoff grew up in Beverly, MA and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross. He is in his second year teaching and came to KIPP Lynn through Teach for America.

Nick VanDerwerken

Mr. VanDerwerken grew up in Rockport, MA and graduated from the University of Rochester. He joined Teach for America and taught at CIS 303: The Leadership and Community Service Academy in the Bronx. He earned a Master’s Degree in the Science of Education from Pace University during his time with Teach For America.

James Voci

Mr. Voci is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Boston, where he studied History and Sociology. Before joining TFA, he was a Math Instructor with Upward Bound and the Native Tribal Scholars program. James is a Teach For America alumnus and is originally from Lynn where he attended Classical High School.
